It is said that one of our biggest fears is public speaking. And what’s the best way to get over our fears and become more resilient and confident? By facing them head-on!
Our longstanding public-speaking is open to youth who are learning French in school. It’s a great way to celebrate their many hours of hard work and official language bilingualism in Canada!

What you need to know about Concours d'art oratoire.
The Councours d’art oratoire is Canada’s largest annual French public-speaking competition.
The competition is open to students in every province and territory in a wide range of age/grade categories and French abilities. Thousands of students participate every year in communities big and small for their opportunity to win prizes and/0r scholarships to postsecondary institutions!
The Concours d’art oratoire has proven to be highly beneficial for students as it:
- stimulates their interest in learning French;
- improves their speaking and pronunciation skills;
- offers them the experience of speaking French in public;
- provides an opportunity to foster a community of active French language learners; and
- demonstrates the relevance of French language instruction in the ‘real world.’

The 2022 edition of the Provincial Concours d’art oratoire will be virtual.
Participants can enter the 2022 Provincial Concours d’art oratoire by submitting a video of their
speech. They can edit their recording, as much as they want to, before entering the provincial
competition. The deadline for submission is Friday, April 15, 2022. Each video will be reviewed
by a panel of three (3) judges and their combined scores will determined the provincial winners
in each group.
There are 15 groups in the 2022 Provincial Concours d’art oratoire: Core French, Core French

Are you a parent looking for help with your child’s French as a second language (FSL) studies? Look no further! CPF has a Virtual Tutoring Program to meet your needs.
Who is the program for?
The Canadian Parents for French Virtual Tutoring Program was created for parents who made a commitment to have their children learn French. The Program provides students from 6 to 14 years of age with additional support for their FSL learning journey.
How does it work?
- Children spend one hour/week in a one-on-one session with a volunteer French-speaking tutor;
- the service is offered free or at a very low cost to families; and
- sessions take place virtually, so a computer, camera, microphone and internet connection are required.
