CPF is proud to present Canada’s largest annual French public speaking competition taking place Spring 2021. Concours d’art oratoire is an awesome way to improve your French-speaking skills and have the chance to win great prizes, including scholarships to Canadian post-secondary schools.
Good Night Bags
If you’re the parent of a young child, you know a good bedtime routine is imperative. That’s why CPF created an awesome new resource for families who have children aged 3-5 years old. We combined learning French with a bedtime routine to bring you the CPF Good Night Bag!
O’Poésie Winners

Can you believe ALL these famous people speak French?! Our Gaston the French Bulldog was amazed when he discovered the following actors, athletes, musicians, gameshow hosts, and political leaders all speak French. Let them inspire you to learn French, too!

Bradley Cooper
Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were awesome in A Star is Born! To promote the film, Bradley did French media interviews… all in French! And he’s really good! He says he learned French while studying in Aix-en-Provence when he was in college. Great job, Bradley!

Alex Trebek
The beloved late Alex Trebek hosted Jeopardy! for 37 seasons. That’s over 7,500 episodes! People knew him as being intelligent, quick-witted and eloquent, but did you know he also spoke French? His mother’s last name was Lagacé and she was Franco-Ontarian. Alex credited his mom for adding “French-speaking” to his extensive resume and enduring legacy.

Serena Williams
With 23 Grand Slam titles under her belt, Serena Williams is one of the most dominant tennis players of all time. She learned French as a teenager because she dreamed of winning the French Open and accepting her trophy in French. She accomplished that goal in 2002 and today she’s passing on her love of French by teaching it to her daughter, Alexis!

Sam Roberts
Sam Roberts and his band have been nominated for fourteen Juno Awards, winning six! They were named Artist of the Year twice and Album of the Year once. Growing up in Montréal, Sam was exposed to English and French from an early age and loves being able to speak both official languages!
Annamie Paul
Annamie Paul is the leader of the Green Party of Canada. She is the first Black Canadian and Jewish woman to be elected leader of a federal party in Canada. Growing up in Toronto, her mother was determined that she and her siblings would grow up bilingual. It looks like her mom made the right choice!
Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth Paltrow is an Academy Award winning actress and creator of the GOOP lifestyle brand. She recently starred in the Iron Man movie series as Pepper Potts and showed off her French speaking skills in an interview alongside Robert Downey Jr. She might not be fluent, but we give her an ‘A’ for effort!
